College Day
For my college day visit I went to SDSU. I took the tour, which wasn't only helpful in deciding if I wanted to attend, but for just applying to a college in general. On the tour I was able to see how diverse all the student life was. There were lots of interesting public shows that students were putting on, as well as students just having a good time. To me, it's very weird to see education like this since I'm used to going to certain classrooms for a certain amount of time. At college, things are very relaxed and much more focused on the students. They are a lot less strict to make sure students have a very comfortable time doing their work. The tour guide shared a lot of interesting things and showed us all around the school. One of the things I was most impressed with was their huge gym and workout center. There were several sections for different types of workouts, 4 basketball courts, and even a rock climbing wall. Another thing I found interesting is that its mandatory for students who don't live close enough to the school to live on campus at least the first year. This way the student can adjust to life at the university, and they also reported that students who do so tend to have better grades overall. As for my favorite spot, it would have to be the library/study center in the middle of campus. Its a big glass dome and goes down into the ground instead of above. It has a 24/7 study room and even private escort and bussing if you’re there late into the night. This school looks very appealing and is the main one I plan on applying to currently. I definitely enjoyed the experience and hope I can attend next year.
