Our vision for this piece was to make a representation of cancer in a way that directly showed the process behind it, while at the same time showing the effect it has and what it causes. During our thought process we came up with the idea of having several dancers gliding on ropes. The ropes are shown swinging around each other and some of the dancers are colored and holding hands. This is meant to show the spiral of DNA and the acid chains that connect it, but in the middle the dancers are grey and not touching. This represents cancer in its basic form, where the acid chains are disconnected and not working the way they are supposed to. With this, you can see that to the side there are cells clumped together, and at the bottom there are another group of cells that are darker and have jagged edges. These cells are the effect of the image of the left with the broken DNA as they show cancerous cells that group together and form tumors.
